About us and our community

ST Hive.png

Sustainable Tring's activities are overseen by the Hive, a small group of representatives from our groups and projects, and some named roles which we are required to have according to our constitution. The Hive meets every couple of months to check in with each other, share news, address questions and plan ahead.

Additionally, we are represented on Tring Town Council's Climate Action Working Group and the Allotments, Environment and Transport Committee.

An Annual General Meeting is held around May/June of each year.

Our origins

Transition Network Logo.png

In June 2023 the long-established community organisation Tring in Transition joined forces with the new community movement The Sustainable Tring Thing under the united umbrella of Sustainable Tring. We believe that by working together, we can create a better and brighter future for our community.

We are part of the global Transition Network. Tring is the world’s fifty-first transition town – where communities get together and take the first steps from a wasteful, oil and car dependent consumer society to a safer, more responsible and happier one.
