Why this matters - Imagine the future of Tring . . .
What kind of town do we want Tring to be for future generations?
This project is about collecting ideas, from local people and current initiatives, that show how sustainable development can and should happen in Tring. A big part of this conversation is around the proposed development at Marshcroft, a Green Belt site that would increase the size of our town by around 40%. That’s a huge change, and one that will leave a lasting impact on our community, landscape, and local environment. We’re not here to campaign against development, we know change is coming. Instead, our goal is to influence how it’s done. We want to help shape a future where:

Nature is protected, and restored,

Land is thoughtfully designed, with space given back to wildlife and green spaces,

Homes are built for the 21st century, low energy, affordable, and future-proof,

Infrastructure that supports a modern, thriving, low-carbon community.

What’s coming up​
The scale of this project could be big—but we believe it starts small, with people who care and are willing to give what time they can. We’ll be taking these ideas out into our community wherever possible - come find us and contribute: the Tring Market, Tring Carnival, our AGM, Apply Fayre, Spring Fayre, Great Big Green Week... It’s a chance for everyone to get involved, share ideas, and shape what comes next.
